Cabaser comes in the form of tablet to take it by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually taken twice a week. Swallow Cabaser tablets whole with a full glass of water. Chewing or crushing the tablets may affect the way the medication is absorbed by your body and may increase the risk of side effects.
The dosage and frequency of Cabaser will depend on the individual’s condition and their response to treatment. However, your doctor will tell you how many tablets to take. The usual starting dose is half to one 1 mg tablet (0.5 mg to 1 mg) a day. Your doctor will gradually increase your dose over several weeks. The recommended maintenance dose is 2 mg to 3 mg a day. The exact dosage and frequency should be determined by the prescribing doctor. Take cabergoline exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Do not stop taking cabergoline without talking to your doctor. Your doctor will decrease your dose gradually.
If you miss a dose of Cabaser, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time of your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
