Indications

Daypro is a prescription medication indicated to reduce pain, stiffness, and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It contains the active ingredient oxaprozin Oxaprozin belongs to a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Daypro works by reducing inflammation in the body and blocking the production of certain hormones that cause pain and swelling.

Oxaprozin is available as caplets of 600 mg for oral administration and the recommended dosage and duration of treatment may vary based on individual circumstances and medical history.

Uses and Dosage

Daypro comes in tablet form and is usually taken orally with a full glass of water, unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider. It is typically taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular dosing schedule. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

The recommended adult dosage of Daypro tablet ranges from 600 mg daily to 1,800 mg daily, taken in 1 or 2 doses with food or milk. If taking 1,800 mg daily, it should be divided into a 1,200 mg dose in the morning and a 600 mg dose in the evening. Do not dispose of medications in wastewater or household garbage.
