Xyzal Oral Solution is taken by mouth with or without food, usually once daily in the evening. To use Xyzal Oral Solution, follow the instructions provided by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake the bottle well before using it and measure the dose using a special measuring spoon or cup. Measure the dose carefully using a special measuring device/spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose.
The recommended initial dose of Xyzal Oral Solution for adults and children 12 years of age and older is 5 mg (1 teaspoon or 2.5 mL) once daily in the evening, and for children 6 to 11 years of age, the recommended dose is 2.5 mg (1/2 teaspoon or 1.25 mL) once daily in the evening. For children 2 to 5 years of age, the recommended dose is 1.25 mg (1/4 teaspoon or 0.625 mL) once daily in the evening. Do not take more than the recommended dose or use it more frequently than prescribed. The duration of treatment will depend on the condition being treated and your individual response to the medication.
If you miss a dose of Xyzal Oral Solution, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to take the medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
