It is a pain reliever and fever reducer medication that contains 400mg of ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of certain natural substances in the body that cause inflammation, pain, and fever.

Use and Dosage
Advil Liqui Gel Extra Strength is an oral medication presented in the form of gel capsules that are to be taken with a full glass of water, usually every 4 to 6 hours, unless your healthcare provider instructs otherwise. Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking the capsules. If you experience stomach upset while taking the capsules, it is recommended to take it with food, milk, or an antacid.
The dosage of this medication should be based on your medical condition and response to treatment. However, the usual recommended adult dosage is 1 liqui-gel every 4 to 6 hours, with a maximum of 6 liqui-gels in 24 hours. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or take the medication more frequently than directed, as this can increase the risk of side effects. Advil Liqui Gel Extra Strength can be taken with or without food but taking it with food or milk may help to reduce stomach upset. When Ibuprofen is administered to children, the dose should be based on their weight.
