Indications

Vastarel MR is a prescription medication primarily used in the treatment and prophylaxis of angina pectoris, a condition characterized by chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscle.

Vastarel MR contains an active ingredient called Trimetazidine hcl. Trimetazidine hcl works by improving the metabolism of the heart muscle and is believed to protect the heart against damage caused by various metabolic stressors, particularly those associated with ischemia (lack of oxygen).

Use and Dosage

Vastarel MR comes in the form of a modified-release tablet. Swallow the tablet whole and not chew it. The recommended dosage is one tablet of 35 mg twice a day, during meals in the morning and evening.

For patients with kidney problems or those over the age of 75, their doctor may adjust the recommended dose accordingly. However, for patients with severe kidney disease, Vastarel MR must not be used.
