This medicine is a TABLET. The 5mg strength is chewable. The 10mg strength must be swallowed whole and CANNOT be split in half. This medicine is a leukotriene receptor antagonist used for the prevention and long term treatment of asthma. Side Effects:SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include diarrhea, stomach upset, cough, headache, or mouth pain. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience the following side effects or symptoms of toxicity: flu-like illness, severe sinus inflammation, rash, numbness or tingling of arms and legs, muscle aches/cramps, stomach pain, yellowing eyes or skin, easy bruising or bleeding, swelling, or seizures.
