Table of contents:

Voltaren Gel, also known by its generic name Diclofenac Diethylamine, is a topical anti-inflammatory used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. Voltaren Gel belongs to a class of drugs called Topical Skin Products.

Voltaren Gel contains an active ingredient, diclofenac diethylamine, is quickly absorbed through the skin and helps to reduce inflammation throughout the body. It works by blocking an enzyme in the body known as cyclooxygenase (COX). When cyclooxygenase (COX enzyme is blocked, the body decreases the amount of inflammatory chemicals to reduce inflammation and pain.

Voltaren Gel is one of the most prescribed medications used to treat pain and swelling caused by osteoarthritis of the knees. It can treat acute pain caused by minor strains, sprains, and contusions (bruises). This gel can be used to relieve muscle and joint pains due to strain or sprains, as well as certain soft tissue injuries.
