Uses and Dosage

  1. Avoid touching the dropper or top of the ointment tube to prevent contamination.
  2. Tilt your head back, look up, and pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch.
  3. Only use as many drops as you have been instructed to by your doctor. However, mostly it is recommended to apply 1 or 2 drops of the lubricant directly into the eye.
  4. Close your eye for 1 or 2 minutes and place gentle pressure near the corner of the eye near the nose.
  5. Roll your eye in all directions to spread the medication.
  6. Use other eye medications at least 5 minutes after applying Systane Eye Lubricant.
  7. Blot away any extra ointment from around the eye with a clean tissue.
