Maxidex Eye Solution

Filed under: Uncategorized — drwatson @ 2:50 pm

Maxidex (Dexamethasone ophthalmic) is a corticosteroid used to treat swelling, redness, itching, irritation of the eyes and eyelids due to infections, injury, and surgery. It works by acting directly within the cells that cause inflammation, thereby reducing swelling, redness and itching.

Before using Maxidex, inform your doctor if you have any bacterial, viral, or fungal infection in your eye. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding.

Do not use Maxidex while driving or operating machinery as it may cause temporary blurring of vision. Do not use this medicine excessively and for prolonged periods of time. This medicine is for ophthalmic use only. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Maxidex Side Effects

Rare side effects: increase in the pressure inside of the eye, cataract, and perforation of the cornea.
