Cialis (Tadalafil) Is Effective
For most men with ED, CIALIS can improve erections — no matter how severe a man's symptoms are.
You won't get an erection just by taking CIALIS. Sexual stimulation is needed for CIALIS to work. Taken before sexual activity, CIALIS helps to increase blood flow to the penis when a man is sexually aroused. And when sexual activity ends, your erection will go away.
How Cialis (Tadalafil) helps
Cialis is not a cure for ED (erectile dysfunction). In clinical studies, men with ED took CIALIS or a sugar pill (called a
placebo). The results of the studies showed CIALIS improved:
- Ability to maintain erections for successful sexual intercourse
- Satisfaction with the hardness of erections
- Confidence in the ability to achieve and maintain erections
Individual results may vary.
CIALIS is clinically proven to improve ED in most men.
CIALIS/Tadalfil can help:
-
Men with mild, moderate, and even severe ED
-
Men with ED who have other medical conditions, such as
diabetes or hypertension*
For most men, CIALIS is an ED treatment that works.
But CIALIS is not for everyone. Talk with your doctor to find out if CIALIS is right for you.
36-hour CIALIS/Tadalafil works fast and lasts long
Having an ED (erectile dysfunction) tablet that goes to work fast may be just what you and your partner want, sometimes. But you also want to know that your ED medicine will still be working if the right moment happens later.
In some men, 36-hour CIALIS works in as little as 30 minutes and can also work for up to 36 hours.*
Life happens
You can try your best to plan ahead for the right moment. But life happens. There are interruptions, surprises, unexpected events. It's good to know that you can take 36-hour CIALIS at dinner and be ready for the right moment later that evening, the next morning, or the next night. The choice is yours.
CIALIS/Tadalafil works only with sexual stimulation
You won't get an erection just by taking 36-hour CIALIS, and you won't have an erection that lasts for 36 hours. Sexual stimulation is needed to get an erection. And once sexual activity is over, blood flow to the penis decreases, and your erection will go away.
CIALIS/Tadalafil is convenient to take
With either CIALIS option, you don't have to plan around meals because the absorption of CIALIS is not affected by food. That means you can eat and drink what you want. But do not drink alcohol in excess (to a level of intoxication) when taking CIALIS. Too much alcohol can increase your chances of:
- Headache
- Dizziness
- A drop in blood pressure
- Increased heart rate
*Individual results may vary. In clinical trials, when taken as needed, 36-hour CIALIS was shown to improve, up to 36 hours after dosing, the ability of men with ED to have a single, successful intercourse attempt. 36-hour CIALIS has not been studied for multiple attempts per dose.
Side effects of Cialis/Tadalafil
As with all medications, Cialis may have some side effects. The most common side effects of both CIALIS dosing options are headache, upset stomach, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. These side effects usually go away after a few hours. Patients who get back pain and muscle aches usually get it 12 to 24 hours after taking CIALIS. Back pain and muscle aches usually go away by themselves within 48 hours. Call your doctor if you get a side effect that bothers you or does not go away.
As with any ED (erectile dysfunction) tablet, in the rare event of priapism (an erection lasting more than four hours), seek immediate medical help to avoid long-term injury.
In rare instances, men taking prescription ED tablets (including Cialis) reported a sudden decrease or loss of vision or hearing (sometimes with ringing in the ears and dizziness). It's not possible to determine if these events are related directly to the ED tablets or to other factors. If you have a sudden decrease or loss of vision or hearing, stop taking any ED tablet, including CIALIS, and call your doctor right away. Learn more about reports of vision problems in men taking ED medicines.
This is not a complete list of side effects. Cialis is available by prescription only. For additional safety information, talk to your doctor about this medicine and see the full Patient Information.
